Where things go wrong
Most of the drama happens right where the electrical wire meets the quartz tube. Cheap units usually rely on basic glue or some low-grade silicone. The problem is that these materials don’t “breathe” the same way the metal and glass do. They expand and shrink at different rates. Eventually, the seal cracks. Doing it the right way

If you’re sourcing these, make sure your supplier is actually using high-temp potting. Otherwise, you’re just signing up for a mountain of returns.
